On Saturday, 21 May 2022, a large audience filled Froxfield War Memorial Hall to hear the Phoenix Brass Training Band give a short concert to ‘show off’ what the players, of assorted ages, had learned and practised in the past few weeks. The Training Band players were all at a very early stage of their playing career. Some players from the Main Band came to provide support, either by playing or being in the audience.
Parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts came to support family members with a mix of musical pieces including some solo performances.
Refreshments were provided by Friends of Phoenix. A raffle and plant stall completed the morning’s event.
Parents were proud of their children’s performance with one commenting afterwards “Thank you for the beautiful playing by the Training Band this morning. A very enjoyable morning. Well done to all the soloists”.
