Musicians from Phoenix Brass have commenced their summer engagements and will be performing at a variety of events in and around the local area. A selection of photographs appear below, with more pictures available on the Gallery page.
Wash Common Community Festival – September 2022
Phoenix Brass performed at the second Wash Common Community Festival, a new venue for the Band which was held at the Falkland Cricket Club. The event attracted hundreds of local people who enjoyed music and the festival atmosphere from Phoenix Brass as well as local bands. Stall and activities were provided by many local Community Groups.

Pewsey Carnival Opening Church Service – September 2022
Phoenix Brass returned to perform a mini concert ahead of the Pewsey Carnival Opening Church Service which was held at Pewsey Fire Station. The event returned after three years due to the Covid pandemic and a large crowd turned out to listen to the Band perform a mixed repertoire of music before the short Church Service.
St Andrew’s Church Fete, Collingbourne Ducis – August 2022
Players travelled to Collingbourne Ducis Village Hall and recreation ground for the annual Church Fete and Tri-village Tournament. This was a new event and venue for the Band.

Victoria Park Bandstand, Newbury – August 2022
Phoenix Brass returned to play at Victoria Park Bandstand, Newbury as part of the summer season of events. Passing shoppers, families who had come to play in the park and those who had chosen to spend a quintessential afternoon listening to the band, gathered in the hot summer sunshine to relax and listen to a varied programme of musical pieces carefully selected by David Watson, Musical Director.
The audience was treated to solo performances by principal cornet player, Eloise Brooks, and principal trombone player, Louise Walley, whop played “Spanish Eyes” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” respectively.
Oare and District Village Show – July 2022
Players braved the extremely hot temperatures to play at Oare, a new venue for the Band. Thank you to Samuel Parkin for the photographs.
Froxfield War Memorial Hall and Jumble Sale – June 2022
The Band performed outside Froxfield War Memorial Hall recently whilst members of the public enjoyed a rather large jumble sale and refreshments. The jumble sale had been arranged to help raise funds for the Hall’s Refurbishment Fund. Although showery in the morning, the weather remained bright but breezy whilst the band played outside their rehearsal hall.
Chaddleworth Fete – June 2022
Despite the mixed weather on the day, the players entertained the public suitably seated under cover and sheltered from the showers at Chaddleworth Fete.
Lambourn Vintage Machinery Society 2022 Spring Show – May 2022
After an absence of almost eighteen months due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Phoenix Brass commenced their 2022 season of engagements at the Lambourn Vintage Machinery Society Spring Show at Lambourn Woodlands during the early Spring Bank Holiday weekend. The morning drizzle did not dampen the players who entertained the crowds for almost five hours.
