Former EBB Bass player, Jan Appleton, joined the Band at a Thursday night rehearsal recently during a short return visit to the area. Jan played with Phoenix Brass for several years before moving to the Carmarthen area in South Wales almost three years ago where she subsequently joined the Crwbin Silver Band. Crwbin compete nationally and locally in the 2nd Section. The band was originally formed in 1891 and reformed in 2000, since when the band has gone from strength to strength climbing from the 4th section to the 2nd section.
Players welcomed Jan and her husband, Gordon, back to Froxfield War Memorial Hall where Jan joined fellow musicians rehearsing Christmas music and carols ahead of a busy festive season for both Phoenix Brass and Crwbin Silver Band.
