Carols around the Christmas Tree, Froxfield War Memorial Hall – Thursday, 22 December 2022
Villagers got in the festive spirit by joining Phoenix Brass for carol singing around the Christmas tree at Froxfield War Memorial Hall recently. This was followed by hot sausage rolls, hot mince pies and hot drinks in the hall afterwards. The Friends of Phoenix Christmas Draw took place.

Co-op Store, Pewsey – Saturday, 17 December 2022
Phoenix Brass brought Christmas music to the Co-op Store in Pewsey yesterday afternoon. Carols and Christmas music added to the festive atmosphere as the band played through a repertoire of Christmas-themed tunes.
Sitting in the comfort of the store, many customers took time from their busy shopping schedule to listen to the band.
The band was grateful to the manager and his staff for allowing the players to perform in the store, and thanked the people for their kind remarks whilst playing.
Froxfield Brendoncare Nursing Home – Friday, 16 December 2022
A bitterly cold evening, freezing temperatures and frost already on the ground did not deter a number of players from the band as they visited Brendoncare Nursing Home in Froxfield to play carols to the elderly residents last evening.
Organized by the Friends of Froxfield Brendoncare, the musicians played well known carols with residents safe and warm inside joining in and members of the Friends singing around a log burner in the garden.
Midway through the evening players enjoyed soup, hot sausage rolls and mince pies.
“Brass and Carols” at The Tipple Inn, Collingbourne Ducis – Thursday, 15 December 2022
Twelve players braved the sub zero freezing weather to play carols and add a festive atmosphere for the regulars at The Tipple Inn, Collingbourne Ducis. This has become an annual event for the pub before they hold their Quiz Night. Players wrapped up well against the cold and enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies afterwards.
Christmas Concert – Sunday, 11 December 2022
The Christmas spirit was in the air when Phoenix Brass performed their Christmas Concert at Marlborough Town Hall recently. The players were joined by Marlborough Community Choir and Marlborough Accordion Orchestra.
There’s nothing quite like Christmas music to invoke the spirit of the season, with the unique sound of brass and accordion together with the delight of a full choir.
The capacity audience was treated to a selection of Christmas carols, songs, and music from the festive season. The musicians delighted the audience by playing a mixed programme of music and tunes with many humming along and singing carols with great gusto. There was something for everyone!
Burbage Primary School Christmas Fair – Friday, 9 December 2022
Players braved the extreme cold to perform Christmas carols and festive tunes to greet members of the public as they arrived at Burbage Primary School Christmas Fair. Playing outside, the musicians entertained the public and did their best to prevent the valves on their instruments from freezing up!
The Parade Cinema, Marlborough – Weekend of 3 and 4 December 2022
Phoenix Brass joined in the fun at the Parade Christmas Market in Marlborough during the weekend. Players provided the musical backcloth as the public enjoyed the outdoor covered market with local artisan businesses selling gifts, candles, toys, hampers, sweets and treats ….. and lots more!
A mixed selection of Christmas favourites and festive classics delighted those that braved the cold to visit the market.
Some budding conductors took charge of the baton during the performances, and even Father Christmas found time to see the band, with his customary ‘Ho, Ho, Ho’!

The Gateway Club, Woodborough – Thursday, 1 December 2022
Players from Phoenix Brass entertained members of The Gateway Club in Woodborough with a mix of festive tunes and carols. This is always a favourite venue for the band.
Members of the Gateway Club, which is a social and leisure activity club for adults with a learning disability, always eagerly await the arrival of the players. They all thoroughly enjoy the musical pieces and many queue up to take hold of the baton to conduct the band.
Marlborough Switch On of Christmas Lights – Friday, 18 November 2022
With Christmas just around the corner, Phoenix Brass performed at the Marlborough Switch On of the Christmas Lights. The event is a huge day for the town, as it marks the beginning of the seasonal celebrations. Playing outside Lloyds Bank the band performed a mix of carols and seasonal tunes to the delight of the large audience that gathered.
