Due to the Covid pandemic last year it was not possible to hold a Remembrance Parade.
This year, on Remembrance Sunday, a parade formed up in Marlborough High Street. After an inspection by the Mayoral Party, Phoenix Brass led the traditional Remembrance Parade and 4MI Battalion to the War Memorial. Unlike previous years, the parade returned to the High Street, and a smaller group of veterans and people of all ages remained at the War Memorial to lay their red poppy wreaths.
The Reverend Chris Smith led the service at the War Memorial with a short prayer, followed by The Exhortation which, in turn, was followed by The Last Post and Reveille performed by solo cornet player, Anthony Palmer.
A small congregation attended the Service of Remembrance at St Mary’s Church at which Phoenix Brass played.
