Phoenix Brass has now joined the ranks of many brass bands performing a virtual recording of a musical piece during lock down. Like all other brass bands, Phoenix Brass has had to endure not being able to get together to perform music, both during rehearsals and at the many summer engagements that have had to be cancelled.
So, not to be outdone, eighteen players from Phoenix Brass performed at home during isolation to play Loyal and True which the Band has dedicated to their Musical Director, David Watson, in recognition of his 75 years to brass banding.
A massive thank you must go to Andrew Gray, trombone player with the Band, for his tireless work in weaving together the individual recordings, the photos and commentary for the video of Loyal & True at a time when he has been busily studying, revising and preparing for his university exams. The photo shows Andrew hard at work on his computer assembling the recordings into the finished recording.
Also, a big thank you to the eighteen players that took part and enabled the recording to go ahead.
